MARTACONNECT EARLY BIRD PROGRAM MODIFIED AS SERVICE LEVELS INCREASE

ATLANTA - The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is modifying its MARTAConnect Early Bird Program in response to a steady increase in morning service levels. Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 6, the MARTAConnect Early Bird Program will be available on 13 routes and the rideshare subsidy reduced from $8 to $5.

MARTA began offering an Uber and Lyft discount through MARTAConnect in 2021 to address early morning gaps in service (4 a.m. – 6:30 a.m.) that arose when many bus routes shifted to Saturday schedules due to an operator shortage. MARTA has worked to increase its pool of bus operators and return most routes to their regular schedules.

The following routes will continue to operate on a Saturday schedule: 21, 75, 82, 85, 103, 132, 140, 141, 185, 188, and 899.

Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 6, customers on these routes are eligible for up to $5 off any Uber or Lyft trip between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Visit MARTA (itsmarta.com) for information on how to claim your discount. Updated Uber and Lyft links will be available Feb. 5.
