Performance (March 2019):
Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $3.40 in March exceeded the forecast by $0.26,
or 8%. This unfavorable variance was due to rail ridership falling short of the
forecast by 0.3 million unlinked passenger boardings and operating expenses
coming over budget. The 2019 Fiscal Year-to-Date (months of July through March)
Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $3.11 is lower than the forecast by $0.05,
or 2%. This favorable variance is due to operating expenses coming under budget.
