Bus Mean Distance Between Failures

Definition: An industry reliability standard that measures the mean distance (vehicle miles) between mechanical failures reportable to National Transit Database, i.e., those precluding a vehicle from completing its trip or starting its next scheduled trip.  

Performance (May 2018):

In May, met the Target; the actual being 7,678 miles. The number of major mechanical breakdowns increased from 332 in April to 355 in May. The number of engine system failures increased by 17%, that of cooling system decreased by 15% and that of brake system increased by 33%.
