Bus Mean Distance Between Failures

Definition: An industry reliability standard that measures the mean distance (vehicle miles) between mechanical failures reportable to National Transit Database, i.e., those precluding a vehicle from completing its trip or starting its next scheduled trip.  

Performance (March 2018):

In March, met the Target; the actual being 7,907 miles. The overall number of breakdowns increased from 839 in April to 920 in March. The number of engine failures decreased by 2%, that of HVAC failures decreased by 19%, that of cooling system failures increased by 40% and that of brake system failures increased by 15%.
