MARTA TO HOST IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR SUMMERHILL BUS RAPID TRANSIT PROJECT

Authority Seeks Public Input on Latest Design of Transformative Project

ATLANTA – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will host two public meetings to provide updates and seek public input on the proposed Summerhill Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. The in-person meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at Fanplex, located at 768 Hank Aaron Dr. SE in Atlanta. Space is limited to allow for social distancing and masks are required. The virtual meeting is Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. over Zoom.

During the meetings, participants will hear from MARTA officials and the project team on project updates, proposed route and stop locations, and other project developments. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback after the presentation.

“This is our first BRT project in Atlanta and one that will transform the way people view bus transportation,” said MARTA Chief of Capital Programs, Expansion & Innovation Manjeet Ranu. “We are eager to share our progress with those who travel this vital corridor and with the communities surrounding it.”
